The red Y's? The rotating thingies are snakes, apparently, so the Y's must be tongues.

I've found the source for this illusion, so I'd like to properly credit the author. See http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/rotate-e.html

There are lots more illusions (although none as good as this) along with a detailed explanation of the phenomenon.
